I am a Clinical Psychologist with a doctorate from William James College, specializing in health psychology and behavioral medicine. My passion lies in exploring the powerful connections between mind and body, with particular expertise in psycho-dermatology, pain management, and migraine treatment.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on psychodynamic principles, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), and mind-body techniques, all while incorporating a strong cross-cultural perspective. I am especially interested in how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence anxiety and depressive conditions, particularly in the context of relationship dynamics. To address maladaptive behaviors, especially those tied to chronic medical issues, I frequently use clinical hypnosis and biofeedback as part of my therapeutic toolkit. Before earning my doctorate in the U.S., I completed my first doctorate in Clinical and Community Psychology at the Università di Roma “La Sapienza.” During my time at the Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata, a leading hospital in Italy for skin disorders, I had the privilege of conducting innovative research on the psychological aspects of skin conditions. This experience fueled my dedication to integrating psychology and medicine to improve patient care. Currently, I supervise doctoral students at Boston Behavioral Medicine and mentor in biofeedback at the Bedford Veterans Administration Medical Center. I am deeply committed to advancing psychological practices, mentoring the next generation of clinicians, and helping individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. |
